OCA in partnership with GOPA Infra and ILKH undertook the Project Preparatory Study (PPS) for the Rural Infrastructure Development programme for Cambodia (RID4CAM). The PPS outcome forms the basis for the RID4CAM appraisal and design of the implementation programme. The Study examined the feasibility and developed the outline proposals for the impropvement of over 600 km of rural roads and prepared preliminary designs and cost estimates for investment, incorporating overall programme aims and impacts, producing cost benefit analysis, implementation framework, socio- and environmental safeguards frameworks, assessments on impacts of and adaptation to climate change, highlighting synergies with other development activities in country, overall funding level, and proposing an implementation workplan, a Monitoring and Risk assessment framework and a draft procurement plan. Feasibility studies were conducted for five piped water schemes and in five example corridors a detailed assessment was made for the need and feasibility of off-road community access and productive infrastructure interventions.
